Whatever the reason, there are times when traditional fixed line or cellular systems are unavailable, and there is a need for urgent communication over significant distances. Whether it be a temporary or permanent requirement, the HAWK2 and EX7100 products are used in many areas to facilitate communications in states of emergency or when communication is vital. Example: Aid agency application:
Requirement: Humanitarian agency required communication from their regional communications centre to a remote temporary aid station and a logistics / distribution base that had both been established in a town with no suitable infrastructure. Specifically, the agency required: - voice channel communication with the remote aid station
- internet and intranet access between logistics base and Regional Communications Centre
- extension of organizational LAN/WAN
- remote alarm monitoring
Solution: Two Exicom point-to-point radio links recommended. - Logistics base
- EX7100 with 4 x voice channels and 2 x RS232 Asynchronous data channels
- I/0 ports (at TTL levels) for remote alarm triggers for stock and supply levels
- Aid station
- Dual channel HAWK2 with 2 x voice channel
